Protecting your most valuable possession…
Buying a home may be the biggest investment made in your lifetime and protecting what may be your largest asset is crucial. No one can predict if your home will be struck by an unforeseen disaster but sadly, for many homeowners, this tragedy becomes a reality. Fortunately, properly preparing for the worst, with home insurance, can help in dealing with the aftermath by providing you coverage to repair, replace or rebuild what was damaged. Options are available to even help cover much of the cost of being displaced and needing temporary housing elsewhere while repairs are being made back at home.
We represent over 15 insurance companies, each with their own specialties, niches and pricing. Meaning we can help find a policy that is tailor made to your family’s specific needs, at the most competitive premium.
Not every home insurance policy is the same and you could literally be left out in the cold without some of the many key coverage options available, such as:
They’re called “accidents” for a reason…
Even the best drivers occasionally need to file a claim and we all know “accidents happen.” However, there are many other scenarios out of your control that call for auto insurance besides an at-fault accident. From discovering your car was the recipient of a hit and run, to it being in a flood or fire, stolen or vandalized. Even things such as an encounter with an un/under-insured driver can result in your need to file a claim.
With all those threats looming, our goal is to provide you with the information necessary to understand all of your coverage options, before you buy. However, we also recognize that cost is an important factor for our clients. We work with an array of leading regional and national insurance companies and will explore all of your options to obtain coverage that makes sense, at the best price.
Some of the most popular optional coverages include:
For when you could have used an ark…
The majority of property owners are unaware that their existing homeowners or commercial property insurance policy will not cover their building or its contents against a flood. For that, you need a separate flood insurance policy. With more and more insurance companies now offering this type of coverage than ever before, navigating the market for the right policy can be daunting. That’s where we can help.
In certain higher risk zones, flood insurance may be required by FEMA or your mortgage lender. However, even homes not located in areas specifically identified as “high risk” are susceptible to damage resulting from a flood. We strongly recommend securing flood insurance to protect against heavy rainfall and flash flooding, regardless of your actual zone.
In most cases, flood Insurance cannot be purchase directly from an insurance carrier and must be obtained through an independent insurance agent, such as Ironside. These policies typically have a 30-day waiting period before coverage will begin. However, there are a few exceptions to this, such as purchasing a new property.
Lastly – while many lenders and loan programs require a flood policy issued by NFIP/FEMA, there are many that allow you to obtain your policy via the private market. The latter option can result in drastic reductions in the cost of your flood insurance policy and we are here to help you explore these options for your primary and excess flood insurance needs.

If you build it, they will come…
Builder’s risk insurance is designed specifically to protect buildings and structures that are under construction, renovation or development, as well as the equipment being used for the project. Should any of these items become lost or damaged during the course of construction, the policy can replace (or provide the funds to replace) these goods.
While under construction, buildings can suffer many types of damage, including storms, fires, forceful winds, and vandalism. That, combined with the potential for third parties to sustain personal injuries while on the premises, makes investing in builder’s risk coverage more of a necessity than an option.
Our agents routinely work with countless property managers, developers and investors and specialize in the provision of builders risk and course of construction coverage. We are here to help you implement the most appropriate coverage to protect your construction site.
